Correct. And it wasn't the first time, either -- "Rocko's Modern Life" also got axed by its creator, Joe Murray, when he
wanted to take some time off from animation.

22 years later and somehow it's still on.

It was indeed cancelled after Stephen Hillenburg stepped away, then replaced with Zombie SpongeBob, which is still going on today.
